Make The Most Of Lockdown With This Free Learning Opportunity!

Free online English and Maths courses

During these challenging times we have an opportunity for residents of Lambeth, if you did not get your GCSE in English and Maths and have been looking for an opportunity to take this. Maybe you have not had the time before, but this time of isolation has opened a window of opportunity. Then all you need is to be within the criteria below.

The only criteria that the learner will need to pass in order to register on the course is:

  • Have a postcode within the borough of Lambeth
  • Be aged 19 or older
  • Be employed (evidence of this will be required for enrolment)
  • Be below a C grade at Maths and English GCSE Level

Upon passing the Eligibility check you can start almost immediately as we currently are doing virtual learning.

The learning would be 4 hours per week over an 8-week period, there are a range of blended learning opportunities, with each candidate given a workbook for both English and Maths courses.

Learners will be given teaching and support throughout with some self-study embed the learning. At the end of the course the learner will take a short exam to achieve their qualification.

The learner would be looking to improve their current level by whole grade. So, if they come as a Level 1 we would hope they finish at least a Level 2.

It will not cost the learner a penny as all courses are government funded and the awarding body is NCFE.

Due to Covid-19 the courses will take place online via a virtual tutor but will be accessible during work hours daily.

If you are interested in enrolling on the course, please contact Martin on:

Currently this funding is only available for employed learners, however if you are unemployed please do also contact me if you are interested in a course and I can put you in touch with the correct people.
