UK’s First Float-In Cinema will soon be in London

A super-fun new cinema has arrived on the Regent’s Canal, and it will float your boat.

London has well and boarded on the bandwagon of drive-in cinemas this summer, and we’ve also seen the appreciated return of some favourite outdoor cinemas. But nothing quite beats the unique experience to join the roster: a float-in cinema on Regent’s Canal.

Hop onboard one of 16 eco-boats provided by GoBoat, London’s famous picnic boats, and join up to 127 others as you watch your chosen films, such as Toy Story, A Star Is Born and sing-a-long screenings of Grease, The Greatest Showman, and more.

When you arrive, you’ll have the chance to drive yourself around Little Venice, before mooring up at Merchant Square where a giant 6x3m hi-res LED video screen will face the water. You’ll be given a set of sanitised headphones to provide high-quality audio, and there’ll be snacks and street food available to order straight to your boat.

The food on offer comes from award-winning pasta chef RaviOllie who will be serving up amazing Italian food from a pop-up kitchen on the water’s edge. A lovely nod to the local surroundings of Little Venice.

Set to launch on September 2 and run on various days throughout the month, Openaire’s exciting new venture is predicted to sell out fast—so get your tickets now. If you can’t secure a spot on a boat, there’ll also be a bunch of socially spaced deckchairs along the towpath which are ready to book.
