No other annual event affects our lives as much as Christmas. In fact, entire economies are based around the holiday. Okay, I might be exaggerating a bit, but seriously, at least a couple things here you didn’t know about Christmas.
Spread Christmas cheer this weekend with some of London’s best things to do on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Get your skates on at the best ice skating rinks in the capital
Get your festive jumper on, grab your gloves and plan to see London at its festive best.
Enjoy a late-night ice skating session with music by top DJs at one of the Skate Lates. Learn to skate or improve your abilities with Skate School, and let little ones have a go on the ice at the Polar Bear Club.
Public transport is limited over the Christmas period, so make sure you plan your journey in advance. There is no public transport on Christmas day. On Christmas Eve, public transport starts to wind down from early evening, including no night busses.
Hyde Park’s massive funfair and festival opens its wide doors on 21 November 2019 for the Christmas season and runs until 5 January 2020. With the exception of Christmas Day, it is open from 10 am to 10 pm every day (except for the first day, 21 November, when it opens at 4 pm).
It may still be a good few weeks before the big day itself, but London is already into the Christmas spirit with various markets chock-full of mulled wine and delicious mince pies.
